Volkswagen covers the mid and upper segment of panel vans and box bodies with this class, as registered in Finland for trades, parcel and general freight, and municipal services; the span from four- to six-cylinder engines shows the range from light to medium-heavy bodies, closer to the maker's larger commercial range than to the compact Transporter.

On used examples, the condition of the diesel engine and injection, rust on the box body, door hinges and load floor, the brakes at the upper end of the weight range, the tightness of the box bodies, and, on the six-cylinder versions, the condition of the tow hitch all count; parts run through the Volkswagen commercial-vehicle network.
