Minimaster 101 by Vimek: compact forestry tractor rated at 12 kW, built in 2000 for use in small woodlands as a solid representative of its power class.
Vimek is a Swedish manufacturer of small, specialised forestry machines, whose Minimaster series was designed for use in small woodlands and dense young stands, where larger forestry machines would not be manoeuvrable enough.

The Minimaster 101 is powered by an engine of 480 cm³ displacement, delivering 12 kW. At an unladen weight of 480 kg, a permissible gross weight of 800 kg, a length of 2,160 mm, a width of 1,130 mm and a two-speed gearbox, the machine is a very light, compact small forestry tractor.
Small forestry machines of this weight class serve thinning work in dense, young stands, where low ground pressure minimises damage to roots and remaining trees. The compact dimensions allow manoeuvring between closely spaced trunks that larger forestry machines could not pass through.
On a used Minimaster 101, the condition of the engine and drivetrain after the hard use typical of forestry machines matters, as does the completeness of the timber-handling attachments. The tyres should also be checked for damage from forest floor debris and branches. Complete documentation of earlier repairs further helps in judging the machine's true condition. Hoses and lines should also be checked for material fatigue after so many years of service. A test drive and a check of every lever and control also belong to a thorough inspection.
