The TY55 is powered by an engine of 558 cm³ displacement, delivering 10.9 kW. At an unladen weight of 420 kg, a permissible gross weight of 600 kg, a length of 2,065 mm and a width of 1,180 mm, the machine is a very light, small tractor for limited pulling tasks, with a payload of roughly 180 kg over its unladen weight.

Micro tractors of this weight class mainly serve the upkeep of small plots, the transport of light loads, and municipal tasks such as mowing, where a manoeuvrable, light vehicle with low ground pressure is called for. Such machines are not designed for heavy soil cultivation from the outset, but work well with small mounted implements and light trailers within their permissible gross weight.

On a used TY55, it is worth checking the type-approval paperwork for completeness, since it is required for regular registration, as well as visually inspecting the engine and drivetrain for leaks, which can develop in small, light engines through vibration. The brakes should also be checked for reliable operation on such a lightweight vehicle.
