T Tec T TEC: a heavy EU class O3 trailer from 2003 with a 10,000 kg gross weight, a 9.09 m length, an 8,200 kg unladen weight and a 2.55 m width
The T TEC from T Tec is a trailer built in 2003. With a gross weight of 10,000 kg it reaches the upper limit of EU trailer class O3, the trailers between 3.5 and 10 tonnes towed behind lorries and heavy tractor units in commercial transport. At 9.09 metres long, the T TEC ranks among the longer examples of this class.

An unladen weight of 8,200 kg leaves only 1,800 kg of payload against the 10,000 kg gross weight. Such a heavy chassis with comparatively little payload is typical of trailers that themselves serve as a stable load-bearing structure for compact heavy loads such as machinery or equipment. At 2.55 metres wide, the trailer sits at the upper limit of the regular vehicle width.
Trailers in this weight class normally carry air brakes from class O3 upward and need a towing vehicle rated for a correspondingly high trailer weight. They are used in commercial transport, where a particularly stable, low frame matters more than a high payload, for instance when carrying construction machinery or plant components.
On a trailer this heavy with so little payload, check the load capacity of the frame itself first: sagging, cracks and corrosion on the cross members point to past overloading. Also check the air brake system for leaks, the condition of the load bed for wear from heavy point loads, and look for older repair welds on the frame.
