Suzuki GRAND VITARA

The register lists here 21 versions with 64 to 95 kW from four- and six-cylinders of 1,870 to 2,736 cm³, unladen weights from 1,430 to 1,810 kg, gross weights from 1,900 to 2,350 kg, lengths from 4,195 to 4,760 mm and widths from 1,780 to 1,880 mm.

The Grand Vitara positioned Suzuki in the growing compact-SUV class against models such as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, while staying closer to a classic off-roader through genuine low-range gearing and a ladder frame (first generation); the van registration was used mainly by commercial owners for the tax advantage of a reduced seat count.

On a used example, rust on the sills and wheel arches, the condition of the four-wheel-drive clutch and transfer case, on the diesels the turbocharger and injection pump of the Renault unit, and on the V6 the timing belt or chain and cooling system count; parts run through the Suzuki network, and for the diesel technology partly through Renault suppliers.
