The span from just under 3.5 to 17 tonnes of gross weight covers light single- or tandem-axle braked trailers for general goods transport as well as tandem or tri-axle versions for heavier loads, of the kind used in regional and medium-distance haulage. Without a fixed range designation, at STX each version appears to be listed as an individual model, distinguished by weight and length.

On a used trailer of these weight classes, the frame and axles for rust and welded joints, the braking system, coupling or drawbar eye and the overrun device, the condition of the tarpaulin or body, and the tyres and lighting count; on the heavier versions it is also worth checking the frame reinforcements and suspension. When checking the papers, it is also worth comparing axle load, trailer class and registration date with the vehicle's actual condition, especially on older or heavily used examples.
