Snorkel is a US maker of aerial work platforms based in Elwood, Kansas. The Scissor Lift range covers electrically driven scissor lifts marked S for indoor use and level outdoor ground, and rough-terrain versions marked SR for uneven building sites; the models run from the compact S1930 to the large SR4084 with correspondingly greater working height and a wider platform. The rough-terrain SR models run either on a diesel engine or in a combined diesel/LPG version for use in enclosed spaces.

When buying used, the condition of the scissor arms and their bearings, the tightness of the lift cylinders, the condition of the platform extension and guardrails, on rough-terrain models the tyres and four-wheel drive, and the function of the emergency lowering system all count; spare parts run through the Snorkel and Xtreme dealer network.
