Schlüter was a German tractor manufacturer based in Freising in Bavaria, building a wide power range from the 1930s until it ceased tractor production in 1993, from compact single-cylinders to the high-output large tractors it later became known for. The SL range counted among the company's simple, light models of the late 1950s.

The SL 15 is powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder engine of 1,256 cc, producing 11 kW (15 hp) at 1,500 rpm. At a weight of 1,150 kg, a wheelbase of 1,717 mm and a width of 1,580 mm, the tractor reaches a design top speed of 20 km/h. Height stands at 1,500 mm and length at 2,610 mm. An air-cooled single-cylinder of just over a litre marks one of the lightest field tractors of its time, the kind used on smaller farms, in orchards and for grassland upkeep. The 20 km/h top speed falls within the L driving licence category, and the power take-off on tractors of this era usually ran at 540 rpm, with no three-point hitch to today's standard yet fitted.
Buying a used single-cylinder this light and this old, the air cooling with its fan and cooling fins, along with the function of the injection pump, deserve particular attention. Also worth checking at inspection are the sheet metal for rust damage and tyre condition after decades of possible idle storage.
