Schlepperwerk Nordhausen was a state-owned enterprise of East Germany based in Nordhausen in Thuringia, building tractors as part of the country's centrally planned agricultural machinery production. The RS 02 range, known as the Brockenhexe, counted among this works' early post-war models.

The RS 02/22 (Brockenhexe) is powered by a two-cylinder engine of 2,200 cc with thermosiphon cooling, producing 16.2 kW (22 hp) at 1,500 rpm. At a weight of 1,775 kg, a wheelbase of 1,750 mm and a width of 1,560 mm, the tractor reaches a design top speed of 17 km/h. Height stands at 2,160 mm and length at 2,980 mm. The engine runs on diesel.

A two-cylinder of this power class with a comparatively low top speed marks a light field tractor of the early post-war years, the kind used on smaller farms and in rebuilding agriculture. The 17 km/h top speed falls within the L driving licence category, and the power take-off on tractors of this era usually ran at 540 rpm.

Buying a used post-war tractor this old, the thermosiphon cooling and its water level deserve particular attention, since this simple design is more sensitive to coolant loss than a pump-driven system. Also worth checking at inspection are the sheet metal for rust damage, the condition of the brakes and the completeness of original parts.
