Scania Semi-trailer tractor (BC)

The register lists here 25 versions with 202 to 536 kW from five- to eight-cylinder engines of 9,291 to 16,353 cm³ displacement, unladen weights from 6,000 to 14,800 kg, gross vehicle weights from 19,000 to 43,000 kg, lengths from 5,805 to 7,700 mm and widths from 2,450 to 2,580 mm.

Semi-trailer tractors form the core of Scania's heavy programme in international long-haul transport; in Finland, where long routes between the ports and the interior are common, they rank alongside Volvo among the country's most-driven tractor units.

Buying a used semi-trailer tractor, operating hours, the condition of the clutch and fifth-wheel plate, the function of the retarder and engine brake, rust on the frame, and on newer models the exhaust aftertreatment all count; spare parts run through the Scania dealer network.
