The air-and-oil cooling of this three-cylinder engine dispenses with a classic water radiator, instead cooling the engine through an airstream combined with an oil cooler; this concept, common at SAME, simplifies construction and makes the engine immune to frost damage in the cooling system. Torque of 220 Nm at a moderate displacement provides sufficient pulling power for everyday fieldwork.
When buying a used Minitaurus 60, the air-and-oil cooling is a key thing to check: fouled cooling air ducts or a leaking oil cooler lead to engine damage more quickly with this system than with water cooling.
