The Diamond represents the top power class of the SAME brand in the register: the Diamond 230 and Diamond 270 are six-cylinder tractors whose model name, as usual at SAME, states the approximate hp class. They are built at the parent plant in Treviglio near Bergamo, home of the brand founded in 1942 by Francesco Cassani and today part of the SAME Deutz-Fahr group.

At almost 9.4 tonnes unladen and up to 269 hp, the Diamond is among the largest conventional four-wheel tractors SAME offers; such machines are mainly used with heavy tillage equipment, for transporting large trailer loads and for driving powerful mounted implements on big farms.
On a used Diamond, operating hours and the condition of the turbocharged six-cylinder, tightness and function of the powershift stages, the state of the axles and tyres given the high weight, and corrosion on cab and mudguards matter; parts run through the SAME Deutz-Fahr group network.
The Diamond remains part of the active SAME Deutz-Fahr group today, securing long-term parts supply even for this upper power class. The three-point linkage at this weight class follows the upper ISO 730 category for heavy tractors.
