SAME builds its tractors at the Treviglio plant near Bergamo in Lombardy; the company was founded in 1942 by Francesco Cassani and today belongs to the SAME Deutz-Fahr group, which also includes Lamborghini Trattori, Hürlimann and Deutz-Fahr. The Centauro range comprises the Centauro and the Centauro 60 in the brand's mid power class; the number 60 in the second model's name follows SAME's usual practice of indicating the power class in hp within the model name.
