Ruhrstahl Geräteträger B 07/B 11 (1951-1956): water-cooled two-cylinder implement carrier with a reversing gearbox, a top speed of 16 km/h and around 500 units built
Ruhrstahl was a German steel group that in the early 1950s also built frame-type implement carriers. The B 07/B 11 was built between 1951 and 1956 in around 500 units and belongs to the rarer German implement carriers of this period.

The water-cooled two-cylinder diesel engine displaces 1,590 cm³ and delivers 20 horsepower at 1,800 rpm. The rear wheels are driven through a gearbox with four forward and four reverse gears. With a weight of 1,467 kg and a top speed of 16 km/h, the implement carrier was built to operate attachments mounted between the axles.
Implement carriers differ from classic farm tractors in that they mount attachments centrally between the front and rear axles, giving a better view of the working tool and a more even weight distribution. A reversing gearbox with identical gear counts forward and backward mattered greatly for this layout, since implement carriers often had to work in both directions at the same speed, for instance when mowing with alternating direction of travel.
When buying a used Ruhrstahl implement carrier, the reversing gearbox should be checked for clean shifting in both directions, since this mechanism is more complex than a simple forward gearbox and can accordingly be more prone to faults. The mounting points between the axles also deserve a check for wear, since they are placed under particular strain with frequent implement changes.
