Renault D-Baureihe

The register lists here five versions with 11.8 to 25.8 kW, or 16 to 35 hp, from two- to four-cylinder engines of 1,400 to 2,715 cm³ displacement, unladen weights from 1,420 to 1,623 kg, lengths from 2,720 to 3,546 mm, widths from 1,500 to 1,584 mm and heights from 1,480 to 1,550 mm at speeds of 1,700 to 1,850 rpm; four models ran on diesel, one on petrol.

As compact tractors for smaller farms, the D range stood at the start of Renault's broader post-war tractor line-up and covered a segment later complemented by the larger LB and TS ranges; competitors in the same market segment included Ferguson, Fiat and the smaller Deutz models.

When buying used, the condition of the injection pump, or carburettor on the petrol model, the cooling system and corrosion on wings and sheet-metal parts matter; spare parts for this early Renault generation and the MWM engine are stocked by dealers specialising in historic farm machinery. It is also worth checking the wing panels and cab floor, where fitted, for corrosion.
