The four-cylinder engine displaces 4,525 cm³ and delivers 73.5 kW, equivalent to 100 horsepower. Depending on whether a front linkage is fitted, overall length varies between 4,300 and 4,850 mm. With a 145-litre fuel tank, 440/65 R 24 front and 540/65 R 34 rear tyres, a wheelbase of 2,490 mm and a top speed of 40 km/h, the Celtis 456 RX was built for switching between fieldwork and transport tasks.
A front linkage considerably widens what a standard tractor can do, since implements can be operated at the front and rear at the same time, such as a front-and-rear mower combination or a front loader alongside a rear implement. Different tyre sizes front and rear, with a noticeably larger rear wheel, are the norm on standard tractors of this layout and improve traction on the more heavily loaded driven rear axle.
