Many units have worked for decades on the same farms, visible in the numerous repair marks and modifications on the frame.

When buying used, check the frame and load bed (corrosion, deformation at the side-panel mounts), the condition of the overrun brake and linings, wheel bearings and tyres, and the function of the lighting system.
