Nord GBN

The register lists here 31 versions with 0.75 to 55 kW, two- to four-pole, with full-load efficiencies from 79.64 to 94.6% and at 75% load from 80.15 to 95.03%. The motors are built for voltage combinations such as 400/690 V or 230/400 V, protection ranges from IP55 to combinations with IP66, and manufacturing according to the register is mainly in Italy. Sixteen of the 31 versions carry the High Efficiency Level 2005 classification, the rest without one; testing followed the GEMS determinations of 2019 with test methods A, B and 2-1-1B.

As a gearbox drive and as a standalone motor, GBN competes in the industrial segment with the standard-motor ranges of ABB, Siemens and WEG; the consistent IEC frame size allows replacement independent of the gearbox maker. The registered voltage combinations from 220/400 V to 400/690 V show the design is matched to different national grids.

When buying used, what matters is the condition of bearings and shaft seals, a checked insulation resistance of the winding, visible corrosion or overheating marks on the terminal box, and a legible nameplate with frame size, efficiency class (IE2/IE3) and voltage. When paired with a NORD gearbox, it is also worth checking the key and coupling; spares run through the NORD sales network.
