Nomad Pick Up from 1976: very light small pickup with a 1,070 kg gross weight, 1,870 mm wheelbase and four-cylinder engine
A gross weight of 1,070 kg and a kerb weight of 670 kg describe a very light small pickup, well below the size of a typical production van, of the kind built for on-site transport around yards and on farms.

A wheelbase of only 1,870 mm and a width of 1,360 mm are unusually tight for a pickup, roughly matching the dimensions of a small car. The gap between kerb weight and gross weight gives a payload of around 400 kg. The vehicle is powered by a four-cylinder engine. This version was registered in 1976.
This combination of a short wheelbase, low kerb weight and narrow body is typical of small, low-volume commercial vehicles of that decade. Such vehicles are suited to regular road use in EU class N1, but their real domain remains short journeys over unpaved ground, where manoeuvrability counts for more than load volume.
On a vehicle of this type now nearly fifty years old, buying used means frame and floor corrosion come first, since light commercial vehicles of that era were rarely galvanised. The braking system needs a close check of lines and wheel cylinders given its age, and with so few of these vehicles built, it is worth confirming whether the engine and drivetrain still match the original specification or have been replaced over the decades. Rubber components such as suspension bushes and brake hoses have long since reached the end of their useful life purely through age, regardless of mileage, and deserve a fresh look even on a vehicle that otherwise looks sound.
