The Nissan Sunny was, from the 1970s into the 1990s, one of Japan's best-selling compact cars, offered as a saloon, hatchback and estate and sold internationally across several generations also under the names Sentra and Pulsar. This page gathers not separate commercial models but Sunny hatchback and estate versions carried in the Dutch vehicle register as a light commercial vehicle – a so-called grey N1 registration with the rear seat removed – recognisable by designations such as 'Bestel' and 'Van'. Among them are also sportier versions such as the turbocharged 2.0 GTI-R.

The register lists here 13 versions with an output of 51 kW from four-cylinders of 1,170 to 1,998 cm³, unladen weights from 886 to 1,220 kg, gross weights from 1,325 to 1,650 kg, a length of 3,840 mm and widths from 1,490 to 1,690 mm.
The Sunny was Nissan's rival to the Toyota Corolla, VW Golf and Opel Kadett/Astra, valued in Europe above all as an economical, reliable everyday car; the estate and hatchback versions registered as commercial vehicles served tradespeople and small businesses that benefited from the lower taxation of light commercials.
On used examples, rust on wheel arches, sills and the boot floor counts, along with the condition of the timing belt and clutch, and on converted commercial versions the execution of the window covering and load area; parts for older Sunny generations are increasingly scarce, while those for 1990s models are still well available through independent parts dealers.
