Nissan Titan XD – the US pickup between half-ton and heavy-duty class: 5.0-litre V8 diesel and 5.6-litre V8 petrol, 228 to 294 kW, SL, Pro-4X and Platinum Reserve trims
The Nissan Titan XD is the heavy version of the Titan pickup built in Canton, Mississippi since 2003, positioned between North American half-tons such as the Ford F-150 and heavy-duty models such as the F-250. Nissan launched the Titan XD in 2015 with a 5.0-litre V8 diesel developed specifically for it by Cummins, offered until 2019, alongside the in-house 5.6-litre Endurance V8 petrol engine. Trim lines range from the basic SL through the off-road-oriented Pro-4X with locking differential and skid plates to the top Platinum Reserve with leather trim; 4X4 marks four-wheel drive, Crew Cab the four-door double cab.

In Europe the Titan XD is traded only as a grey import and there usually registered as a light N1 commercial vehicle; it competes with the Ram 2500 and the heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado for buyers needing towing capacity beyond the European pickup class.
On used examples, on diesel versions the condition of the exhaust aftertreatment (AdBlue, particulate filter) and injection, on petrol versions the valvetrain and cooling system of the V8, plus rust on the frame, the condition of axles and the trailer coupling and the brakes under heavy load count; parts come through US imports and specialist grey-import workshops.
