Mercedes-Benz WDB 440.162: the MB-trac 700 was a four-cylinder farm tractor built from 1975 to 1980 with a 3,784 cm³ engine, 65 hp (48 kW), a top speed of 25 km/h and a weight of 3,300 kg
Alongside the Unimog, Mercedes-Benz ran its own farm tractor line, the MB-trac, distinguished by mounting the cab and driver's seat centrally between the axles for even axle loading with front- and rear-mounted implements. The WDB 440.162, the MB-trac 700, belongs to the early generation of this line from 1975 to 1980.

The four-cylinder engine displaces 3,784 cm³ and produces 65 hp, or 48 kW, at 2,400 rpm, delivering 216 Nm of torque, and is water-cooled. With a top speed of 25 km/h, the MB-trac is built for field work rather than road speed. On a 2,400 mm wheelbase it weighs 3,300 kg unladen, with a gross weight rating of 6,000 kg.
The symmetrical layout allows a front loader and a rear implement to be run at the same time without the one-sided axle-load shift of a conventional tractor, which helped establish the MB-trac in professional agriculture despite its unusual appearance. Its power take-off runs at the standardised speeds of 540 or 1,000 rpm, and its three-point hydraulics follow the internationally used category system set out in ISO 730.
When buying a used example, check the mounts of the centrally suspended cab, the tightness of the hydraulic couplings front and rear, the condition of the portal axles inherited from the Unimog, and rust on the chassis. Spare parts are available through the active MB-trac enthusiast scene.
