The six-cylinder engine displaces 7,698 cm³ and produces 299 hp, or 220 kW, at 2,200 rpm, delivering 1,200 Nm of torque, and is water-cooled. On a 3,350 mm wheelbase the U 530 weighs 9,400 kg, measuring 5,550 mm in length, 2,300 mm in width and 2,970 mm in height. With a top speed of 89 km/h it is also built for longer road journeys between job sites.
As an implement carrier, the U 530 takes front and rear attachments through power take-offs and hydraulic circuits, switching between winter service, mowing or farm tasks. Its high road speed sets it apart from pure field tractors and allows year-round use in municipal service. Its power take-off runs at the standardised speeds of 540 or 1,000 rpm.
When buying a used example, check the condition of the portal axle gearboxes and their oil level, the tightness of the hydraulic couplings for attachments, rust on the ladder-type chassis frame, and the ratio of engine hours to mileage.
