Vehicles of the 814 class were widely used box-body and flatbed trucks across Europe for urban distribution traffic and trades, where their compact dimensions and four-cylinder diesel offered a good compromise between payload and manoeuvrability; they competed directly with comparable models from Iveco and MAN. Bodybuilders also fitted this chassis with insulated box bodies and mobile workshop platforms.
