The MC 130 is powered by a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine producing 99 kW (135 hp). It is a four-wheel-drive tractor with a design top speed of 40 km/h. It is fitted with 420/70R28 tyres at the front and 520/70R38 at the rear, a typical pairing of a narrower steered axle and a wider driven axle for this power class. As a standard tractor, the MC 130 has a rigid frame with axles of similar height, unlike the narrow, raised front axle of a row-crop tractor. When buying a used MC 130, check the four-wheel-drive hub and the front-axle joints, which see heavier wear under constant field use with drive engaged on all four wheels than on a rear-wheel-drive machine. The 420/70R28/520/70R38 tyre sizes are common, so replacements are usually available without a special order. Also inspect the injection pump and charge-air path of the four-cylinder engine, the condition of the front and rear hydraulic couplings, and the frame and mounting brackets for cracking, which can appear after years of field work on a tractor weighing more than five tonnes.
