Massey-Harris 200 series (201/202/203) – six-cylinder tractors of the 1930s with 23.8 to 43 kW, up to 5.4 litres of displacement and a factory-fitted Chrysler engine
The 200 series comprises the models 201, 202 and 203, with which Massey-Harris entered the upper power segment in the 1930s. The type number rises with displacement and output, while the chassis and bodywork remained largely unchanged across the range; notable is the standard six-cylinder engine, which sets the range apart from the brand's smaller four-cylinder models.

The register lists 3 versions with 23.8 to 43 kW (32.4 to 57 hp) from six-cylinders of 3,959 to 5,406 cc displacement at a rated speed of 1,700 rpm. Operating weight ranges from 2,919 to 2,996 kg, with dimensions of 3,543 mm length, 1,753 mm width and 1,505 mm height. One of the models is listed with a Chrysler six-cylinder as the engine supplier; the range ran on petrol or a kerosene-petrol mixture.
By turning to an industrial six-cylinder from an outside engine builder, Massey-Harris followed a practice common among North American farm machinery makers in the 1930s, putting the pulling power and smoothness of large car and truck engines to use in agriculture. The range was thereby positioned above the simpler four-cylinder tractors in the line-up.
On a used purchase of these now-historic tractors, points to check include the condition of the six-cylinder's engine bearings and crankshaft, the tightness of the radiator and water pump, wear on the gearbox and clutch, and corrosion on the chassis and sheet-metal parts. Spare parts for industrial Chrysler engines can partly be sourced through vintage automotive and farm-machinery networks.
