Massey Ferguson TE-Reihe
1 model in this series
Massey Ferguson TE series: the TE-A 20 (1948-1956) with a four-cylinder petrol engine, 1,879 cm³ displacement, 31 hp/22.8 kW output and a permissible gross weight of 1,100 kg
The TE series ranks among the most influential tractor designs of Britain's post-war agricultural machinery industry. It paired a compact petrol engine with a standard hydraulic three-point linkage, making power-driven implements widely accessible to small and medium farms for the first time, instead of only towing implements from a drawbar.

The TE-A 20 has a water-cooled four-cylinder petrol engine with 1,879 cm³ displacement, producing 31 hp, or 22.8 kW, at a rated speed of 1,600 rpm. At a permissible gross weight of just 1,100 kg, with a length of 2,920 mm and a width of 1,620 mm, it is a very light all-purpose tractor whose design top speed of 20 km/h clearly marks it as a pure field and yard tractor.
With a top speed of 20 km/h, the TE-A 20 falls under Germany's driving licence category T. The three-point linkage this series helped establish still follows, in principle, today's ISO 730 standard, allowing a plough, cultivator or rotary tiller to be mounted directly without a separate frame, a notable feature for such a light tractor.
When buying a used TE-A 20, the hydraulic connections of the three-point linkage, the condition of the carburettor and the petrol engine's seals deserve particular attention, since parts of this age are often reproductions rather than original. Frame cracks and the condition of the brake drums are also worth checking on such a light, old tractor.
