All versions sit within trailer class O2 up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight, towable behind cars and light vans without an extra licence category; the wide spread of lengths points to use both as a short general-cargo trailer and as a long boat or load trailer. Such trailers are often sold in North America through specialist dealers for recreational and utility trailers, where axles, brakes and couplings largely follow standardised norms.

On a used trailer, the condition of the drawbar, overrun coupling and brake cable, the condition of the axle and wheel bearings, corrosion on frame and load bed, and a valid inspection all count; on the long, narrow versions it is also worth checking the frame for twist and the coupling ball for wear. Before buying it is also worth checking the permitted nose weight and the condition of the side hinges on the open versions.
