With widths of over 4 m and gross weights up to 85 t, these are not ordinary road trailers but mobile crushing and screening plants for quarry and recycling operations, as used in surface mining and the construction aggregates industry.

When buying such a plant used, the condition of the crushing cone, jaws or rotor depending on the design matters most, along with wear on the screen mats and cracks in the chassis caused by the high operating loads. It is also worth checking the drive motor, conveyor belts and hydraulics for leaks. From a width of 3 m, road transport of such plant in the EU is only allowed with a special-transport permit and usually an escort vehicle; the chassis itself here serves only to move the plant between work sites, not for continuous road operation.
