Lindner Geotrac 65 A: mountain tractor from Kundl in Tyrol, built between 2001 and 2004, water-cooled three-cylinder diesel of 2,700 cm³ producing 65 hp at 2,250 rpm
Lindner, based in Kundl in Tyrol, is an Austrian manufacturer specialising in tractors for mountain farming. The Geotrac 65 A belongs to an earlier generation of this standard-tractor series and was in the line-up between 2001 and 2004, a period in which Lindner was gradually turning the Geotrac range from a simple mountain tractor into a full standard tractor with a cab.

It is powered by a water-cooled three-cylinder diesel engine of 2,700 cm³ displacement, producing 65 hp at 2,250 rpm. Gross weight is 2,750 kg and top speed is 40 km/h, giving a power-to-weight figure of roughly 42.3 kg per hp. A wheelbase of 2,060 mm, length of 3,460 mm, width of 1,890 mm and height of 2,310 mm give it a compact footprint for a mountain tractor, easing travel on narrow tracks and turning on slopes.
At 40 km/h the Geotrac 65 A reaches the upper limit of German licence class L; higher speeds would require class T. At this size the tractor serves smaller and mid-sized mountain holdings for grassland maintenance, feed transport and driving light to medium mounted implements through the three-point hitch on steep slopes.
When buying a used example of this age it is worth checking the cooling system for leaks at the radiator and water pump, since water-cooled engines can become prone to corrosion after years of work on slopes. The clutch, gearbox and PTO clutch should also be checked for wear, along with tyres, brakes, and the tightness of the hydraulic connections on the front and rear hydraulics.
