As classic North American lawn and garden tractors, the Bolens models served the market for property maintenance and light loader work on residential plots and smallholdings, a segment shaped in the US by brands such as Bolens, Wheel Horse and Cub Cadet before consolidating heavily in the 1980s and 1990s.

On used Bolens garden tractors, the condition and compression of the petrol engine count, along with the condition of drive belts and gearbox, rust on frame and bodywork, and the condition of the mower deck and blades. Since the brand has not been built for decades, parts for many models can now only be found through collector and restoration exchanges.
