The Powermaster was Landini's series of large row-crop tractors, with the power class stated directly in the model name - from the Powermaster 180 at around 180 hp up to the Powermaster 230 at around 230 hp. All six versions are powered by six-cylinder common-rail NEF diesels with turbocharging and intercooling, an engine family also used in other large-tractor series within Landini's parent group, ARGO Tractors.

As the flagship series, the Powermaster targeted large arable farms needing high pulling power for heavy tillage, cultivation and transport work, competing directly with the large tractors from Case IH, New Holland, Fendt and John Deere. Landini belongs to the ARGO Tractors group, based in Emilia-Romagna, and shares engines and components with its sister marque McCormick.
On a used example of this six-cylinder common-rail engine, check the injectors and turbocharger, the power-shift transmission, the hydraulic pump and valves for heavy implement work, the front-axle suspension, and corrosion on the wings and bonnet; parts for the NEF engine also run through the FPT-Iveco network.
