The 4-100 is powered by a four-cylinder engine of 3,600 cc, producing 95 hp (70 kW) at 2,200 rpm. Without front ballast it measures 4,321 mm in length on a 2,230 mm wheelbase with 375 mm of ground clearance, standing 2,507 mm tall; its hydraulics lift up to 3,900 kg.
A four-cylinder of 3.6 litres with a hydraulic lift capacity of nearly 4 tonnes suits tillage with a plough or cultivator, mowing and haulage with full trailers. The comparatively high ground clearance of 375 mm makes it easier to work between crop rows and on uneven ground, without greatly reducing stability.
When buying a used Landini 4-100, the hydraulic pump and the tightness of the lift cylinders are among the first things to check, since the stated lift capacity is only reached with an intact system. Gearbox, clutch and front axle bearings should be checked under load, along with the condition of the exhaust and intake. Parts for engine and hydraulics are readily available through dealers specialising in Landini and the Argo Tractors group.
