At gross weights up to 42 tonnes and lengths up to 13.6 metres, the KLC trailers belong to the large semi-trailers for long-haul freight, used behind articulated tractors for heavy and general cargo. With gross weights well above 10 tonnes, all versions fall into EU vehicle category O4 for trailers and semi-trailers, which may only be towed by suitably approved tractor units.

When buying used, check the frame and chassis rails for cracks and deflection, the axles, braking system and overrun brake device, wear on the fifth-wheel plate and kingpin, and the condition of the tarpaulin or side panels; spare parts for axles and brakes are available through the independent commercial-vehicle trade. Underrun protection, mudguards and the condition of the brake and lighting connection lines are also worth checking, along with tyre age via the DOT date code. Complete vehicle documents, a valid registration and a current roadworthiness and safety inspection also matter when buying used.
