Kip Caravans was founded in 1934 by Jan Kip in Hoogeveen as a coachbuilding business, built his first camping vehicle for his own use in 1947, and produced the first series-built caravans from 1949; to this day Kip remains the only surviving caravan manufacturer in the Netherlands and builds entirely at its home plant in Hoogeveen. This page gathers the models of the Cavalier range that the register could not assign to a named type, from the early 305 and 415, through the 440 and 440 TA, to the larger 625 and 640 types and the special version G 380.

As category O2 trailers, Kip caravans are fitted with an overrun brake and can be towed on a category B licence, as long as the combination of towing vehicle and caravan does not exceed 3.5 t. The Cavalier was one of the volume ranges of the brand from the period when Kip reached an annual output of 10,000 units in 1971, before the company shifted toward higher-grade fittings from 1982 onward.
On a used caravan of this age, check for damp in the walls, floor and roof, the condition of windows and seals, the overrun brake and jockey wheel, and the gas lines and their connections; spare parts for older Kip models are available through the Dutch caravan trade and specialist Kip restorers.
