On a used Johnston sweeper, wear on the sweeping brushes and suction nozzle, the condition of the debris hopper, and the tightness of the hydraulics and water system for dust suppression are worth checking, along with frame corrosion from constant contact with road salt and moisture. Chassis parts are available through the general commercial-vehicle trade, sweeping-technology components through Johnston itself or specialist municipal-equipment suppliers.
