JCB – other industrial engines: the collective page of Compact Range, G60RS H, Mid Range, Powerpack and Rental Range outside the named ranges of JCB Power Systems in Derbyshire

This page gathers five versions from the drive and power-generation programme of JCB Power Systems that the register could not assign to a named range: Compact Range, G60RS H, Mid Range, Powerpack and Rental Range. JCB Power Systems, based in Derbyshire, has built its own Dieselmax diesel engines since 2004, after construction equipment maker JCB had previously relied on engines from outside suppliers; the designations Compact Range and Mid Range stand for different build sizes within the engine programme, Powerpack for a complete drive unit of engine and ancillaries, and Rental Range for versions designed specifically for rental fleets.

The register lists here 5 versions: Compact Range and Mid Range are classified as "Non Regulated", G60RS H and Powerpack as "Zero Emissions", while Rental Range is certified to the EU Stage V emission standard; within it, power ratings range from 18 to 300 kVA, or up to 200 kW. G60RS H is listed at 58 kVA.

With the JCB Dieselmax the company also set a speed record for diesel-powered vehicles on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2006; the programme covers both powering JCB's own construction machinery and selling generator sets and drive units such as those listed here to outside customers.

When buying used, what counts on the Rental Range versions certified to EU Stage V is operating hours and the condition of the turbocharger and charge-air cooler, while on the G60RS H and Powerpack versions classified as Zero Emissions it is the condition of the wiring, controls and ancillaries, since these are usually traded as a complete unit; on versions from rental fleets it is also worth checking the service log. Spare parts run through JCB's Power Systems distribution.
