Iveco 35S18 (Jegger) – conversion on an Iveco chassis with single rear wheels, 3,500 kg gross weight and 7.55 m overall length
The 35S18 type designation in the Iveco Daily range follows a fixed pattern: the 35 marks the weight class around 3.5 tonnes, the letter S denotes the version with single wheels on the rear axle. The operator Jegger fitted its own body onto this chassis, as is common for chassis in this class: cab from the vehicle manufacturer, body built to the purpose required.

The four-cylinder diesel engine has a displacement of 2,998 cm³. At a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg against an unladen weight of 2,715 kg, 785 kg remain for body and load. The overall length of 7.55 m with a 4.10 m wheelbase is the longest single-rear-wheel example on record in this chassis class, with a correspondingly long rear overhang; the 2.35 m width sits within the usual range for box bodies, and the permitted top speed is given as 160 km/h.
At 3,500 kg gross weight the vehicle falls into EU class N1 and can be driven on a category B licence provided body weight and load together do not exceed the remaining 785 kg. The long overhang behind the rear axle shifts the load centre further back than on shorter bodies on the same chassis, which must be considered when loading so as not to exceed the permitted rear axle weight. At this body length, the single rear wheels rely on an even spread of the already limited payload.
When buying a used vehicle of this kind, the long overhang makes it especially worth checking the frame extension for distortion and cracking, and the bolted connection between frame and body for play. The rear leaf springs and dampers should be checked for sag given the load centre sitting so far back. Tightness and hinges on the body doors also belong in the basic inspection.
