The TM3185A from Iseki's TM line belongs to the class of especially compact tractors from this Japanese maker, built for very small plots, horticulture and tight spatial conditions. Iseki specialises in such small-scale designs, common in Japan given its small fields and rice-growing plots.

The TM3185A has a water-cooled three-cylinder diesel engine of 761 cm3 displacement, producing 12 kW (18 hp). At 1,040 mm wide, 2,450 mm long and on a 1,270 mm wheelbase, it is among the narrowest tractors in its class. With the roll-over bar fitted it weighs 565 kg, and its three-point linkage lifts up to 500 kg.
A three-cylinder engine under one litre is an extremely small tractor engine, found only on mini tractors for specialty crops, greenhouses or very narrow row spacing. Its width of just over a metre allows use between row crops and on narrow paths where a normal compact tractor would already be too wide.
When buying a used TM3185A, it is worth checking the roll-over bar for deformation or cracking, as it forms the only rollover protection structure on such a light tractor. Compression of the three-cylinder engine, the condition of the narrow tyres and play in the tight steering geometry also belong on the inspection, along with the tightness of the three-point linkage's hydraulic connections. Parts for this mini line are usually only available through Iseki specialist dealers rather than the general farm machinery trade.
