International Harvester 460 (Standard Line) – six-cylinder tractor with petrol, LPG or diesel engine, 38.2 kW and 244 Nm torque, built from 1958 to 1963.
The Standard line with the INTERNATIONAL 460 was built, like the larger INTERNATIONAL line, from 1958 to 1963, as International Harvester restructured its tractor programme by power class. Within that reorganisation, the 460 was the smaller six-cylinder version and was likewise offered with a choice of petrol, LPG or diesel engine.

The six-cylinder engine of 3,614 cm3 displacement produces 38.2 kW (52 hp) at 1,800 rpm and 244 Nm of torque. At 2,384 kg, 3,277 mm long and 1,626 mm wide on a 1,999 mm wheelbase, the 460 is noticeably lighter than its bigger sibling in the INTERNATIONAL line. Overall height is 1,549 mm, top speed 25 km/h.
A six-cylinder engine of under four litres is a comparatively free-revving but light unit, designed more for smooth running than for high torque. The choice between petrol, LPG and diesel matched the differing fuel prices found across US regions at the time. At 25 km/h the 460 sits clearly below the 40 km/h limit for driving licence class L.
As with all multi-fuel tractors of this generation, the fuel system actually fitted governs the scope of inspection: LPG systems need a sound tank and a working vaporiser, petrol engines an intact carburettor heater against icing. Cylinder head gasket, water pump and clutch belong on the checklist for every 460, along with the condition of the steering knuckles.
