Holder, the Max Holder company headquartered in Metzingen in Baden-Württemberg, built single-axle mini-tractors and motor hoes for domestic-garden and small-plot use alongside its larger farm tractors, a category that includes the H range recorded in the register. The extremely low unladen weight of the types H 100, H 3, H 5 and H6, from 33 to 44 kg, and their single-cylinder petrol engines with two-stroke mixture lubrication show that these are hand-guided single-axle implements rather than four-wheel farm tractors.

On a used Holder H-range implement, the condition of the two-stroke engine including carburettor and ignition, wear on the clutch and drive belt, and the function of the steering handles and clutch levers all count; parts for these early single-axle implements are practically only available through collectors and specialist secondhand-parts exchanges.
