With an unladen weight of 2,910 kg, payload comes to 2,790 kg, close to half the gross weight. At 12.00 m long, 2.50 m wide and with an 8.20 m wheelbase, the SA2A TS2 is unusually long for its weight class, pointing to a voluminous body for light, bulky goods rather than dense heavy loads.
From class O3 upwards, trailers are generally fitted with air brakes rather than the simple overrun brake of light trailers. Towing it as a combination requires driving licence category C1E or CE in the EU, depending on the combined train weight. The great length combined with a comparatively low gross weight places particular demands on the torsional stiffness of the frame.
