Freewheel Other models

The register lists 58 versions with kerb weights from 250 to 2,840 kg and a gross vehicle weight from 850 to 4,500 kg. Widths range from 1.78 to 2.55 m, and lengths from 5.62 to 11.95 m, covering everything from compact trailers for small motorboats to long trailers for sailing boats.

Boat trailers of this class are common watersport equipment in the Netherlands, with its dense network of lakes, canals and coastal waters. Single-axle versions, usually unbraked or fitted with overrun brakes, dominate the range, with a galvanised frame, keel rollers and side guide rollers suited to different hull shapes; Freewheel competes there with other Dutch makers of boat and watersport trailers.

When buying used, check the frame and keel rollers (corrosion from salt and fresh water), axle and brake, lighting, plus the coupling and jockey wheel; seized or gummed-up roller bearings make hauling the boat out harder and are worth checking before purchase, as does play in the swivel joint where a folding tongue is fitted. Spares for rollers and axles are widely stocked by Dutch watersport dealers.
