The 2000 Dexta (A) is powered by a three-cylinder diesel engine with water circulation cooling and 2,588 cc, producing 40 hp, or 29.3 kW, and 152 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. At a weight of 1,870 kg, a length of 3,210 mm, a height of 2,280 mm and a width of 1,620 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,930 mm, the machine reaches a top speed of 20 km/h.
A three-cylinder engine of around 2.6 litres and almost 30 kW was built for smaller and medium-sized farms, suited to tillage with light to medium implements, mowing and trailer work through the power take-off. Torque of 152 Nm at 2,000 rpm provided adequate pulling power for this power class across the practical rev range. The power take-off typically runs at the standardised 540 rpm, allowing a wide range of mechanically driven implements to be used.
When buying a Ford 2000 Dexta (A) secondhand, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, the water-circulation cooling system, and the injection pump and injectors of the diesel engine matter most. Also worth checking are corrosion on sheet-metal and frame parts and the brakes; spare parts for this common series are usually readily available on the open market.
