Ford 10 TW series

2 models in this series

The 10 TW series from Ford comprises 2 models.

Ford TW series (10 series): large field tractors from Antwerp and Basildon, TW-20 and TW-30 with six-cylinder engines, 107 to 130 kW / around 145 to 175 hp, built from 1979

The TW series opened the heavy field tractor class in 1979 as the largest line of Ford's contemporary 10 series generation and was built at Ford's plants in Antwerp, Belgium, and Basildon, England. The TW-20 and TW-30 listed here mark the lower and upper power steps of the first series; the type logic ranks the number by power class, while the 10 designation links the whole generation from the small 10-series models up to the large TW tractors. Both models were available with two- or four-wheel drive.

The register lists 2 versions here with 107.4 to 130.2 kW from six-cylinder engines of 6,582 cm³, torque of 564 to 670 Nm at a rated speed of 2,200 rpm, and operating weights of 5,828 to 6,634 kg, with lengths of 4,470 to 4,849 mm, widths of 2,124 to 2,200 mm and heights of 2,946 to 2,950 mm.

As flagships of the 10 series generation, the TW series targeted large arable farms in North America and Europe and competed there with John Deere's 40 series, the large Case-IH models and Massey Ferguson's 2000 series.

When buying used, attention should go to the condition of the clutch and transmission, the tightness of the hydraulics and, where fitted, the four-wheel drive, rust on the fenders and cab floor, and the condition of the front axle bearings; engine and wear parts for Ford tractors are still readily available on the open market.
