The Fendt Favorit 612 LS carries a water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine with 6,234 cm³ of displacement, producing 135 hp, or 98.8 kW, at 2,400 rpm, with 490 Nm of torque. At 7,025 kg, 4,800 mm long, 2,860 mm high, 2,204 mm wide and with a 2,715 mm wheelbase, the machine reaches a top speed of 30 km/h.
With six cylinders and nearly 100 kW, the Favorit 612 LS ranked among the more powerful farm tractors of the 1980s and was built for draft work with ploughs, cultivators and heavy trailers on large arable farms. The 30 km/h design top speed falls under German driving licence class L.
When buying a multi-cylinder Favorit tractor of this era used, the condition of the injection pump and the cooling system under full load matters, along with the tightness of the hydraulic connections for front and rear implements. Also worth checking is corrosion damage to the frame, mudguards and cab, the condition of the clutch, heavily stressed by decades of heavy draft work, and the condition of the tyres, the lighting system, and the steering linkage after decades of use.
