The 200 Vario is Fendt's compact range below the 300 and 500 series, built at the home plant in Marktoberdorf in the Allgäu, which has belonged to the US AGCO group since 1997. The third generation (Gen3) of the 200 range comprises the 207 to 211 Vario models, whose number orders the power class in ascending order; the name comes from the stepless Vario transmission, which Fendt was the first tractor maker to offer as standard in the 1990s and which now runs through the whole range from the compact 200 to the big 1000 Vario. A three-cylinder of 3,300 cm³ is fitted throughout, one model also approved for pure rapeseed oil fuel (RME).

The 200 Vario is Fendt's answer for compact farms and municipalities seeking the Vario technology of the big ranges in a nimble, compact machine, and competes with the John Deere 5M and the Case IH Maxxum; thanks to its compact dimensions and stepless transmission it also suits municipal work such as sweepers or snow ploughs.
On used tractors, the condition of the Vario transmission and its oil-change intervals, leak-free hydraulics, rust on cab and mudguards, the condition of the front axle and tyres and parts supply through Fendt's dense dealer network are what count.
