With an unladen weight of 5,260 kg, payload comes to 14,740 kg. At 10.85 m long, 2.55 m wide and with a 6.90 m wheelbase, the trailer sits on a long, multi-axle chassis that carries the large box floor area under a fixed roof and spreads the permitted mass across several axles.
From class O3 upwards, trailers of this size are generally fitted with air brakes rather than the simple overrun brake used on light trailers. Towing it as a combination requires driving licence category C1E or CE in the EU, depending on the combined train weight. The closed body protects the cargo but makes the condition of the roof and walls its own inspection point.
When buying a used unit, check the roof and side walls: dented panels or softened rivet points point to moisture that has got in. Check the floor for sagging and rot, test the door seals and locks for smooth operation, check the air lines for leaks, and listen to the axle bearings for play. It is also worth checking the general condition of the chassis paintwork as an indicator of how well the trailer has been maintained.
