The register lists 14 versions with unladen weights from 450 to 580 kg, gross weights from 1,300 to 1,800 kg, lengths from 5,080 to 5,200 mm and widths from 2,080 to 2,500 mm.

Trailers of this weight class serve as braked car trailers for transport and building loads and small machinery; the split into S1 and S2 by gross weight eases the choice between the lighter and heavier version at a similar unladen weight and therefore favourable payload. The close type logic also eases resale, since buyers can read the permitted payload directly from the type designation.

On a used trailer, the condition of the axle, brake and overrun brake device, rust on the frame and side panels, the function of the lighting system, and tyres and wheel bearings all count; the type designation by S1 or S2 and gross weight should match the details in the registration document. On the D*Sign type, the condition of the special paint finish and any extra equipment should also be checked.
