Deutz-Fahr Agrotron – Premium Line Since the Mid-1990s, with Four- and Six-Cylinder Engines, 55 to 198 kW and Operating Weight from 3,970 to 9,800 kg

Deutz-Fahr introduced the Agrotron series in the mid-1990s as a new top-tier range; the earliest models in the register date from 1996-1997. The line spans a wide power band: output from 55 to 198 kW, with models rated in horsepower from 82 to 260 hp, using four- and six-cylinder engines with displacement from 3,190 to 7,146 cm³.

Recorded operating weight runs from 3,970 to 9,800 kg, wheelbase from 2,419 to 3,095 mm. Alongside conventional powershift gearboxes, Deutz-Fahr later offered stepless TTV transmission technology within the Agrotron family, visible in the TTV-badged models in the register.

The Agrotron line targeted medium to large farms and for many model years formed the backbone of the Deutz-Fahr range above the Agroplus and AgroStar series. Buyers of a used Agrotron should check gearbox type, emissions stage and cab equipment closely, as these changed considerably over the model's long production span.

With rated outputs from 55 to 198 kW, the Agrotron series falls within ISO 730 Category II to III for the rear three-point hitch, with a standard dual-speed power take-off at 540 and 1,000 revolutions per minute. Deutz-Fahr as a tractor brand belongs to the Italian SDF Group (SAME Deutz-Fahr), which is a separate company from the Cologne engine maker Deutz AG; both still supply spare parts for their respective ranges today.
